 Afroempire Dance Studio is a premier center for body movement arts based in Harare, Zimbabwe. Founded in 2011 by Divvone Musendekwa (Afroempire), we have spent over 11 years perfecting the art of dance and instruction. We believe that dance is a powerful way to express oneself, a fantastic form of exercise, and, above all, great fun!.

With more than a decade of experience as dancers, gymnasts, and instructors, our team specializes in a diverse range of movement arts:

  • Urban Dance: Hip Hop and Afro House. 
  • Power Styles: Break Dance and Acrobatics. 
  • Athleticism: Professional Gymnastics. 

We are not just performers; we are storytellers. Our team is highly skilled in using body language to portray complex characters, concepts, and emotions to our audience.

We take a unique approach to dance. Rather than just focusing on traditional techniques, we teach through a concept-based perspective. Our curriculum is built around the six core elements of modern dance:

    • Combating Drug Abuse: We aim to keep young people away from drugs and crime by providing a positive, creative outlet.

    • Youth Engagement: Especially in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, we strive to keep youth active and inspired rather than idle.

    • Career Building: Our long-term goal is to produce the world’s best dancers and choreographers, providing a path for dance to be a professional career, a healthy hobby, or a fitness lifestyle.

    • Saudi Arabia (2019): Recognized for the best African performance at the Jeddah Season Festival.

    • USA (2020): Collaborated with Dream House Pictures to provide dancers and a lead choreographer for the “Desert Sessions – Move Together” music video.
